Inn at Danbury on Wheel of Fortune

Paula Hurka, a teacher’s aide from Pittsburg, Penn., was lucky to be “Wheel of Fortune’s” contestant and win a trip to the Inn at Danbury. Her prize package includes a one-week stay at the Inn at Danbury for two, four dinners at inn’s award-winning German restaurant The Alphorn Bistro, champagne and flowers upon arrival and treats in her room everyday.

“It was so exciting to win this prize; I have wanted to visit New England for years,” said Hurka. “I am looking forward to enjoying the comfort of your cozy country inn, and enjoying Chef Graf’s award-winning German cuisine in the adorable looking bistro.”

Earlier this year, The Alphorn Bistro was named “Best German Restaurant” in New Hampshire by voters in New Hampshire Magazine’s 2006 “Best Of” survey. The inn and bistro were also recently reviewed by The Boston Globe.

Inn at Danbury voted best breakfast in the state

DANBURY The Inn at Danbury in Central New Hampshire has been voted by inngoers nationwide as the “Best Breakfast in New England,” according to Arrington’s Bed and Breakfast Journal’s 2006 Book of Lists issue. Readers considered more than 800 inns across the country for the award.

Additionally, Arrington’ readers ranked the Inn at Danbury as the #11 bed and breakfast in the entire nation. According to Arrington’s managing editor, Stephanie Smith, “This is quite an honor since the inns that were selected represent the top three percent of country inns and bed and breakfasts in the United States.”

Readers left a number of positive comments with the publication, and volunteered the Inn at Danbury for a number of awards of their own, including “Best chef/owner!” from Bob & Bonnie Dinwoode of East Greenwich, RI; “Best Restaurant” from Nan Becker of Newton, NJ; “Best German Food” from Natalie & Gary Ceccolini of Ann Arbor, MI; “Best Chef/Austrian Food” from Debra Grooms of Merrimack and “Best Chef” from Inge & John Schermerhorn of Kingston.

Situated in rural, Central New Hampshire, The Inn at Danbury is a rambling country inn providing a home base of relaxation and cordiality combined with an abundance of four-season local activities, including some of the best views of fall foliage in New England. The 14 guestrooms, gardens and indoor heated pool are complemented by the Alphorn Bistro, Northern New England’s only Bavarian restaurant.

The Inn at Danbury and Alphorn Bistro is located at 67 NH Route 104, and can be reached at www.innatdanbury.com or 1-866-DANBURY.
