The Inn will be hosting or participating in the following Charities in 2007

Danbury Dine “n” Donate Wednesday’s at Alphorn Bistro

Danbury Dine “n” Donate

This is a new program that Bob and Alex Graf just started in January 2007. They were inspired by fellow restaurateurs in New Hampshire who have done the same kind of event in the past, and wanted to participate in the way they felt it would benefit the most. The goal is that each Wednesday a charity or non-profit organization will become the recipient of 25% of the profits from dining at the award winning Alphorn Bistro that evening. We are excited for this new program and hope we can raise money for a lot of causes and organizations.

Participate in the Danbury Dine “n” Donate program

We would love to have you join us this year for this new exciting program.
If your organization is interested in participating in our Wednesday night Dine “n” Donate program, please sent us an e-mail with your organization’s name, address, phone number and who it will benefit.
Include 5 Wednesday evenings that you think will work best for your group or organization and we will pick a night that works best for both of us.
We will then put your information on our website, advertise it and promote it to our regular dining guests, and ask them to join us. We would ask of you that you would do the same in your organization to maximize the amount of people that will dine on “YOUR” night, to enjoy a delightful meal and help raise money for a good cause.
At the end of the evening we will tally up the sales and you will receive a check made out to your organization for the amount raised. It’s as easy at that!

Danbury Inn pitches in: inner proceeds go to Tsunami relief
By STEFANIE PHILLIPS

Chelsea Graf organized her Newfound High School Honor Society members to donate their time for the Tsunami Benefit Dinner at the Inn at Danbury and Alphorn Bistro. The volunteers helped in the kitchen with food prep, clean-up, dinner service and bussing.

DANBURY — A Danbury family business, joined by several volunteers and sponsors, presented the Red Cross with their own tsunami fund donation on Sunday.
The Danbury Inn and Alphorn Bistro held a benefit dinner and auction to help raise money for victims of December’s Indian Ocean tsunami, which left more than 160,000 people dead. There were two seatings with an auction at each. All proceeds went to the Red Cross and Goad International.

Food and auction items were donated by some of the inn’s sponsors and other local businesses, including Ragged Mountain ski tickets and dinner at the inn. Area businesses that donated food items and made other contributions include Cricenti’s Market, Black River Produce, Perfecta Wine Company, U.S. Food Service, and Schwan’s Foods.
Students from the National Honor Society at Newfound Regional High School volunteered their time and helped serve guests. In between seatings, Innkeeper Alexandra Graf said that the event was going well with a great turnout. “Everything is going smoothly. It’s definitely successful and we have had a lot of fun doing this.”
“The first seating went off without a hitch,” said her husband, Bob Graf. Alexandra said that 21 meals were served in the first sitting, with 32 planned at the second. The first auction raised $197 and a second was
planned after the 7 p.m. meal. She said that she was hoping to donate more than $25 from each $40 ticket. A dollar was donated from each adult beverage, and she estimated the day’s total donation would fall between $2,000 and $3,000.
Smaller, personal donations were collected during the dinners and auctions and Alexandra said that she would love to be able to reach her goal of $3,000. A representative from the Red Cross chapter in Concord was expected to be present at the 7 p.m. dinner to accept the donations.

Over $25,000 Raised for the Red Cross
Over one hundred donors joined two New Hampshire inns to raise over $25,000 for  disaster relief for Hurricane Katrina victims last night. The event, hosted by the Inn at Pleasant Lake (Brian and Linda McKenzie) and The Inn at Danbury (Robert and Alexandra Graf), included a $100 fixed-price dinner and both a silent and live auction with items donated by dozens of local businesses.  All proceeds, including 100 percent of dinner and auction proceeds, went directly to the American Red Cross. It was only 2 weeks ago that Innkeepers Linda and Alexandra put their minds together to hold an event for Hurricane Katrina victims. Last night when the event was in full swing both innkeeper were elated. “I can not believe the generosity with which our guests have responded — both with donated items as well as with high bids on the items in the auction,” said Alexandra Graf, owner of Inn at Danbury. The team of over twenty-five volunteers started early on Tuesday to prep the food, set up for the auction and set up tables for over 100 guests.   Jan Sahler donated a watercolor painting from her father, Howard Webster, which sold for $675. “I can not wait to tell my dad, who made the painting and lives at the Woodcrest assisted living home in New London,” said Jan.The event was a huge success and Innkeepers Robert and Alexandra Graf from Inn at Danbury and Brian and Linda MacKenzie from Inn at Pleasant lake were pleased with the results. ” I am a little tired today but it was SO worth it.  Our many locals and friends came through for the people down South, and I can not wait to tell our family in Mississippi how much we raised,” said Linda.  “Hopefully it will lift their spirits.”Jim O’Brien from the Concord Chapter of the American Red Cross was blown away by the function.  He spoke to the crowd on what the Red Cross has been able to do so far. “I want these ladies to organize all our events.  They do a fantastic job — every thing looked beautiful on the Auction tables and the six course meal prepared by Chef MacKenzie and Chef Graf and their assistants was amazing!” smiled Jim O’Brien. The ladies are ready to assist again when the need arises.

“Doing this together was a lot of fun” chimed the Innkeepers.
